California Baby is my favorite when it comes to gluten-free products for the boys! They’re one of the only companies whose entire list of products are GF! Fortunately they’re the products that I’ve always used on Aiden, so it was the one thing in our house that we didn’t have to change! :) They’re completely natural, organic choices for your little ones. Their sun-block is my favorite! It’s thick, smells great & works wonderful & is of course GF!

I found two new Yahoo! groups that are loaded with information. One of the big benefits of the internet is the ability to bring people together. Whether you or a loved one has Celiac Disease, these two groups are great for answering your questions, great for venting & great for support. SillyYaks has a huge assortment of lists, for example… restaurant guides & candy lists, etc. KidswithCeliac is great for parents looking for support or helpful suggestions on how to deal with all sorts of issues, for example… how to deal with a birthday party, school functions, family events, etc. You need to sign up for a yahoo account to be able to participate in both these groups but that’s free & it only takes a minute!

A co-worker of my Mother-in-law’s mentioned these & now I want some!!!! Is anyone else interested in ordering some of these? If we get enough of an order (over $40), we can get free shipping & a reduced cost in the bags. I can place the order for us all in one & can distribute them out (if you live locally to myself) when they’re shipped to me. Any takers? Let me know by Tuesday (April 22nd), Earth Day by 11 am! (lisa@mrsglutenfree.com) ;-)

NewChapter Organic Vitamins are all naturally gluten-free, according to their website. I also double checked, by emailing to verify and they confirmed that they are indeed gluten-free! I ordered some of their pre-natal vitamins from iHerb.com & they arrived the next day! So far, so good. The reviews couldn’t be better. They come in a glass bottle (which I like) and are made from whole foods. If you buy them from iHerb.com, use the code: LAD512 for $5 off of your order! They’re not just great because they’re gluten-free but also because they’re using high quality organic whole foods! They also have a very large assortment of vitamins & vitamin/herbal combinations for all sorts of needs!

Patsy Pie sent us a goody box full of yumminess! All the items were shelf stable except for their brownies that needed to be frozen upon delivery. Well, to be honest with you, none of them made it to the freezer! : ) We ate all of them. They were THAT good. Our almost 4 year old ate 2-3 of them in a sitting. I finally told him he had had enough and that he could have another one tomorrow. Unfortunately, Mommy & Daddy finished the bag off that night! They were really moist for something that came in a bag. They had chocolate chips inside of the chocolate brownies and for a chocolate lover like myself, that was a good thing. They were small enough that we could eat them in 2 bites. Perfect for a quick & delicious dessert!

Another Patsy Pie treat that I loved was the biscotti! The almond ones were really tasty. Nice texture and simple taste. Really nice snack with coffee! My favorite one was the cranberry orange! Big chunks of soft, moist cherries with a hint of orange infused into the biscotti. Yum! A perfect companion to my cup of hot tea & even better when I dipped it into the tea! Truthfully, I wasn’t a big fan of biscotti before I tasted the cranberry orange variety! Double Yum!

Now for the cookies, I tried the chocolate chip, the peanut butter, the raisin & the snappy gingers. My favorite was the snappy ginger. I’m much more into softer style cookies and the ginger was really soft & fresh tasting… the perfect cookie to dip into coffee. I liked that the ginger is more subtle in this cookie, too. The chocolate chip & peanut butter cookies had good flavor but I’m not a fan of crunchy style cookies, which these both were. The raisin was another soft cookie, interesting flavor (almost a corn bread taste) and raisins are always a happy surprise in a cookie!

Overall, Patsy Pie offers really yummy gluten free treats! Who needs gluten? Not I, especially when Patsy Pie is in our home! To grab some Patsy Pie treats for yourself head over to their website: www.patsypie.com.

When Aiden & Ryan were diagnosed with Celiac, one of the first questions we had was: What do we do about the dog food? We have tons of dogs and they do interact with the boys & they sleep indoors. So, the obvious choice was to do a search for GF dog foods. We feed our dogs Canidae, which happened to be GF! :) So, I’m going to give some suggestions for dog & cat foods based on the research I’ve done. Leave us a comment (or email me: lisa@mrsglutenfree.com) if you come up with more than what I have listed or if you have a correction (ingredients change constantly) & I’ll add it to the list.. I’m sure there are more out there! Remember to check the labels carefully. These are brands that have GF options, they may not all be GF! Most can be found at pet supply stores that offer natural food choices. :)
