About

My name is Lisa & I’m a stay at home Mom to two awesome little boys… Aiden who turns 4 in May & Milo who was born in January of 2008! I’m married to Ryan, a video editor and have been with him since 1999! Both Ryan & Aiden were diagnosed with Celiac disease in December of 2007. Aiden was also diagnosed with acute colitis. We’ve been gluten free since December of 2007 & have honestly enjoyed this new lifestyle. When I found out both Ryan & Aiden had Celiac disease, I completely immersed myself into a new lifestyle. I was on a “mom” hunt for anything & everything that was both gluten free & healthy! I read a ton of books, did lots of research on the Internet & with both of their GI Drs & our naturopathic Dr., I finally began to see my son blossom and my husband be able to happily enjoy a meal! I am extremely pro active in my boys lives and I strive to take the best care I can of them. I’ve always been extremely health conscience and have always fed my family organic fruits, veggies & meats & the gluten free lifestyle in now just an extension of that. We are also an eco-friendly family & live our daily lives with that in mind. When I’m not washing cloth diapers or nursing my littlest guy, Milo or reading the newest Star Wars book/coloring book/magazine with Aiden, or texting my husband Ryan, I’m learning, cooking, baking & playing with new things everyday! In fact, I just turned 30 but feel as though my life is just beginning! :-)

    Hi!
This is great! But sorry to hear about the Celiac disease. I also have colitis, IBS, and GERD, not fun, but a healthy diet really does help. I’m looking forward to check in to see what you come up with.
    Good luck! And take care.
    Kisses to Aiden & Milo!
    Love, Carol

Love your website! I recently moved to LA - what GI and naturopath do they go to, do they specialize in celiac? Thanks!

Hi Lisa, Ryan must have found my blog somewhow added me on Twitter, so I checked out your blog. That’s cool you’re also sharing about your experience living/eating gluten-free. My husband has wheat allergies (does not have celiac disease) and we live in Shanghai currently. It’s been pretty challenging keeping away from wheat/gluten because products don’t always have labels. Very few people in China understand the implications of food allergies since not many people have allergies — it’s a developed country phenomenon, believe it or not.

Anyway, look forward to reading about your experiences.
